Access the state allocation spreadsheet for K1, K1T, or 6198 screens

The following screens have an allocation spreadsheet for entering state amounts:

Rather than accessing each state to enter differences, or entering multiple units of the K1 screen for a single partnership, you can enter all data at the federal level for each unit on a single unit.

Conditions for accessing the spreadsheet

To access the State allocation spreadsheet, you'll need to meet the following conditions:
  • The client needs to include at least 1 1040 state return.
  • You'll need to view Client Organizer data entry or Tax Input Screen data entry.
  • The following screens need data in

State if Different (SID)

The
State if Different
(SID) fields for the
6198
screen apply to: AL, CA, HI, KY, MA, NY, OK, OR, and WI. Other states being processed are in the State allocation spreadsheet, but the amounts aren't available.
California has 2 columns: California Total Sources and California CA Sources. Enter the total source California K-1 income in the
State if Different
fields. You can enter amounts from California sources in the State allocation spreadsheet if they're different from California Total Source amounts. For part-year and nonresident returns, the application creates the
St CO
and
K1 St
screens for the state. The
St-CO
screen shows the state ZIP Code (CA) and contains the state amounts. The
K1-St
screen shows the state-source ZIP Code (CS) and contains state-source amounts.
Hawaii has 2 columns: Hawaii Total Sources and Hawaii HI Sources. Enter the total source Hawaii K-1 income in the
State if Different
(SID) fields. Enter amounts from Hawaii sources in the State allocation spreadsheet if they're different from Hawaii Total Source amounts. For part-year and nonresident returns, the application creates the

and

screens for the state. The

(SID) fields. Enter amounts from Wisconsin sources in the State allocation spreadsheet if they're different from Wisconsin Total Source amounts. For part-year and nonresident returns, the application creates the

screen shows the state ZIP Code (WI) and contains the state amounts. The K1-St shows the state-source ZIP Code (WS) and contains the state-source amounts.

Access the spreadsheet

When you've met the previous conditions, select
View
, then
Allocation
from the toolbar.
