Screen CA1310 - California Refund for Deceased Taxpayer (1040)

Overview

Use this screen to complete the California version of Form 1310, Statement of Person Claiming Refund Due a Deceased Taxpayer, when the California return shows a tax refund. Information is automatically used from data input in the federal 1310 Screen. Use this screen if the information is different from the federal information.

Claimant Information

Use this section to enter information to claim a refund on behalf of a deceased taxpayer. Information automatically transfers to California Form 1310 from data input in the federal 1310 Screen. Use this section to enter California information, if different from federal.

For electronically filed returns, a representative must be selected when one or both of the taxpayers is deceased. Select the type of Representative on the CAELF Screen, located in the CA Electronic Filing folder, and enter the
Executor or Guardian name
on the Gen Screen, located in the California General folder. UltraTax CS defaults the spouse as the representative when only one spouse is deceased and the filing status is married filing joint.
