State use
Don't use Delaware state use code
35
in the federal 1099R screen for pensions qualifying for lump-sum tax treatment either federally or for Delaware purposes. Use the State use code
35
for the pension exclusion calculation.
Calculate lump sum tax when not electing or qualifying on federal return
Select this field to calculate a lump-sum distribution tax on Form PIT-STC, when you aren't electing or qualifying for lump-sum tax treatment on the federal return. The
Averaging method
field in the Lump-Sum Distributions Tax section is a mandatory field used to calculate a lump-sum tax. Form PIT-RES, Page 1, reports retirement distributions qualifying for lump-sum tax treatment for Delaware but not for the federal return as a subtraction modification.
