Overview

Use this screen to complete the Credit for Income Taxes Paid to Another State section on Form 39. If you're processing a multiple-state return, process the nonresident state(s) first, followed by the resident state. UltraTax/1040-ID transfers information from the nonresident return(s) to the resident return to complete the credit for taxes paid to other states.
If UltraTax CS is used to calculate another state’s return and it generates a credit for taxes paid to another state, UltraTax/1040-ID automatically includes a copy of that return. When filing on paper, a paper copy prints. When filing electronically, a portable document format (PDF) of the nonresident return is attached.
