Screen KYSale - Kentucky Sale of Business Property (1040)

Show all hidden content

Overview

Use this screen to review information that transferred from the UltraTax CS asset module or the federal
Sale
screen. All depreciation and amortization information transfers directly into the
KYSale
screen from the asset module when detailed data entry is used, or from federal data entry when summary data entry is used, and then transfers to the relevant form(s). It's important to report any state-related law differences and details in the
KYSale
screen.
UltraTax CS lets you specify how you want to enter asset information. You can enter it either in the asset module or in the various depreciation input screens. When you specify that you want to use the asset module as your method of asset data entry, this input screen isn't relevant and the tab for this input screen doesn't appear. Therefore, you'll need to enter a postal code for each asset in depreciation data entry.
For resident returns, all units created in the federal
Sale
screen transfer to UltraTax/1040-KY. For the nonresident and part-year returns, units created in the
Sale
screen transfer only if the postal code you enter for the asset is
KY
. Also, manually created units from the federal
Sale
screen transfer only if the postal code in the input screen is
KY
.

General Information

State does not conform to section 179 QRP treatment
UltraTax CS automatically marks this box to indicate that the corresponding federal sale of section 179 QRP doesn't apply for state purposes, so the sale isn't reported. The screen is completed for consistency with the corresponding federal screen unit.
