Overview

Use this screen to complete Form 502CR, Part A, Personal Income Tax Credits for Individuals. Complete one part of the screen for each state to which taxes were paid.
If you're processing a multiple-state return, process the nonresident state(s) first, followed by the resident state. UltraTax/1040-MD transfers information necessary to complete the credit for taxes paid to other states from the nonresident return(s) to the resident return. UltraTax CS calculates multiple copies of Form 502CR as needed.
Maryland has reciprocity agreements with Pennsylvania, Virginia, District of Columbia (currently does not have a nonresident income tax) and West Virginia. UltraTax/1040-MD doesn't transfer information for states with reciprocity agreements with Maryland.
If you use UltraTax CS to calculate another state’s return and it generates a credit for taxes paid to another state, UltraTax/1040-MD automatically includes a copy of that return. When you file on paper, a paper copy prints. When you file electronically, a PDF of the nonresident return is attached.

If you use UltraTax CS to file a nonresident return, UltraTax/1040-MD automatically completes the
