Show all hidden content

Overview

Use this screen to calculate adjustments to federal taxable income. Interest and dividend income entered in statement windows in the B&D, K1, and K1T federal screens are used in the calculation of state income and adjustments. You may indicate in those statement windows if data should be applied only to the federal or only to the state return and use the state ZIP Code and
In-State Source %
fields to indicate which part-year or nonresident state should include income entered.
  • Enter
    F
    in the
    F/S
field to indicate that the item is for the federal return only.
  • Enter
    S
    in the
    F/S
field and a ZIP Code in the
    State
field to indicate that the item transfers only to the state specified and is ignored for federal purposes.
  • For Minnesota source interest and dividends reportable on part-year and nonresident Minnesota returns, you'll need to enter MN in the
    State
field in these federal statement windows. Part-year returns default to include 100 percent of the income when the
    In-State Source
field is blank. For nonresident Minnesota returns, you'll also need to enter a percentage in the
    In-State Source %
    field.
