Explanation of changes
To default to the federal explanation for amending a return, mark the option in
Setup

Other Return Options

tab. To enter an explanation different from the federal explanation, enter an explanation of the changes being made to the original tax return in the statement.

Amounts as Previously Reported

Transfer original information
Enter

to transfer the originally filed data (as of the last time the return was printed) to this screen. Mark this field prior to printing the amended federal return, if it's also being prepared. Alternatively, the original amounts may be directly entered in this screen.
Penalties
Late filing penalties aren't calculated for amended returns. Enter any interest due on the balance of tax displayed on Form D-400.
