Overview

Use this screen to enter general information for Ohio city returns. Select from various city return types in
File
, then
Client Properties
. An Ohio city license is required to process city returns. If information transferred from UltraTax/1040 doesn't require additional data or coding, UltraTax CS shows it on the form only, not in the input screen.

Residency

Full-year resident city code (NTC if a resident of a non-taxing municipality)
Enter the city code for full-year residency. Enter code
NTC
if a full year resident of a non-taxing municipality. If this client moved between cities during the tax year, don't enter a full-year resident city code; use the part-year resident statement.

Part-year resident cities, dates and addresses
For each residence during the tax year, enter the city code, city name, dates of residency and resident address during the tax year. Enter city code
NTC
for any non-taxing municipality. If the address is outside the United States, select the globe icon to show the foreign address columns. Don't complete this statement if taxpayer is a full-year resident of a single municipality.

Non-Ohio Municipal Tax Rates

Use the fields in this section to designate city tax rates for cities located outside of Ohio. The CCA and RITA returns use these rates to calculate a credit for taxes paid to non-Ohio cities.
Non-Ohio municipality tax rates
The CCA and RITA resident city returns use these rates to calculate a credit for taxes paid to non-Ohio cities. Enter the non-Ohio city tax rate as a percentage. For example, enter 2.75% as 2.75. Other resident city returns don't use these rates.

User Defined City Information

User-defined cities are available for any taxing Ohio municipality that's not already defined in the application. Use the fields in this section to designate a city name for any user-defined city that has been set up in

Specify the name of the city for UltraTax CS to use throughout this client for the user-defined cities set up in
Setup

window. If a user-defined city is present in the return and a city name hasn't been specified in one of these fields, the default user-defined city is used as the city name.
