Overview

Use this screen to complete Form 37, Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) Individual Income Tax Return. If information transferred from UltraTax/1040 doesn't require additional data or coding, UltraTax CS shows it on the form only, not in the input screen.

Return Information

Enter general information that pertains to the RITA return in the fields provided.
Physical address
If the physical address is different from the mailing address and this isn't a part-year resident, enter the physical address. Part-year residents enter their physical addresses on the
OJCGen
screen. Outside the United States, select the globe icon to show the foreign address columns.

Adjustments and Credits

Use this section to enter adjustments for net loss carryforward and credits.
Net operating loss carryforward by city and year
This statement is used to complete the RITA Net Operating Loss Worksheets and Schedule J. Enter the code of the city that's recognizing the loss, the year of loss and the amount of unused net operating loss from a previous year. Enter the loss carryforward as a positive amount. The worksheet calculates the amount of loss carryforward to be used against the current year income; to use less than that amount, use the
Force
field to enter a smaller amount or zero (0). Amounts greater than the calculated value can't be used. Unused losses are carried forward to the extent enabled by the city. The number of years for which a pre-2017 net operating loss can be carried forward can be modified in

Part-year residents may have more than one line per workplace city; enter the Resident city code for each line and apportion prior year amounts between this year's resident cities.
Adjust credit for taxes paid to other cities
Enter the city name and adjustment amount of credit of income taxes paid to other cities in the statement window. If a non-Ohio municipality, select
Out of State
. The
Resident City Code
field is required when a part-year resident of a RITA city, but full-year residents don't need to enter this. This adjustment applies only to residents. Amounts entered here are added to the calculated amounts.

Use this section to suppress or force printing of the RITA return on a client-by-client basis and to force a due date different from the one calculated by UltraTax CS.
