Direct Deposit and Electronic Funds Withdrawal

Use this section to indicate direct deposit and/or electronic funds withdrawal. The OH Direct Deposit Report shows disclaimers (found on the
OHDiscl
screen) and details of the requested deposit. The requested withdrawal details are reported in the OH Electronic Funds Withdrawal.
Suppress direct deposit of Ohio refund
Direct deposit for the Ohio return refund is the default choice when account information is entered. Enter
X
if you don't want to deposit the state refund directly in the client’s account.
Use Refund Advantage / EPS Financial for refund deposit
Use this field to have the client’s refund, less the fees, deposited with Refund Advantage / EPS Financial. This field is available only when filing electronically and a bank product is selected in the federal
RAL
screen.
Enable electronic funds withdrawal for a balance due return
Use this field to request an electronic withdrawal of funds for a balance due return. If this field isn't enabled, no withdrawal will occur.
Date of withdrawal
If filing on or before original due date, date of withdrawal defaults to original due date, unless an earlier one is entered. If filing after original due date Ohio initiates a withdrawal request when the return has completed processing (transfer of funds may occur on or after requested date). A date isn't required to be entered, the electronic file includes the date the file was created as the date for withdrawal. Client documents print using the date the return was printed.
Amount of withdrawal
The amount of withdrawal defaults to the total amount due with the return. Use this field to request a different amount.

Estimated Payment Electronic Funds Withdrawal

Use this section to designate electronic funds withdrawal (direct debit) for estimated tax payments. Electronic funds withdrawal is available only when filing electronically for current year returns (not enabled with amended returns).
Requested Withdrawal Date
Estimated payments aren't enabled to be scheduled past the due date of the payment. Submissions will be rejected if any of the estimated payments are scheduled past the 4th quarter due date. Any payment with a date in the past will be changed to current date and debited within the next two business days.

Account Information for Deposit and Withdrawal

A different account from the federal return may be entered for OH. To prevent unintended premature withdrawal penalties or excess contributions, account info doesn't transfer from the federal
Bank
screen for an IRA. Refunds may be deposited to 529 College Advantage savings accounts; enter the account and beneficiary info on this screen.
Routing transit number
Data entry in this field is required in order to consider the account information complete for processing. If this field is left blank, the account won't be used. The routing transit number will need to be nine digits with the first two digits within the range of 01-12 or 21-32.
Name of financial institution
This field is used in filing instructions and forms to help identify the account.
Depositor account number
Data entry in this field is required in order to consider the account information complete for processing. If this field is left blank, the account won't be used. The account number may include digits and letters. Omit spaces, hyphens, and other special characters.
Type of account
Data entry in this field is required in order to consider the account information complete for processing. If this field is left blank, the account won't be used. Select the type of account from the dropdown list. An IRA or 529 account type can't be selected for electronic funds withdrawal.
Non-US financial institution
There are regulations affecting international electronic funds transfers processed though the automated clearing house (ACH) network. Enter
X
if the account identified is used for an IAT. Because state agencies can't process an IAT, the direct deposit or electronic funds withdrawal is suppressed when this field is marked.
College Advantage beneficiary: Social Security Number / … / Last Name
If depositing to a College Advantage 529 savings plan, enter the Social Security number and name of the beneficiary. Also, the account and beneficiary information should be entered on the federal
1099Q
screen so this year’s deposit can transfer to next year as a deductible contribution.
