Overview

Use this screen to complete resident Schedule II, RI-1040MU, part-year resident Schedule III Part 2, and RI-1040NR-MU, when applicable.

General Information

Use this screen to complete Form RI-1040, Page 3, Schedule II and RI -1040MU. If processing a multiple-state return, process the nonresident state(s) first followed by the resident state. UltraTax/1040-RI transfers information necessary to complete the credit for taxes paid to other states from the nonresident return(s) to the resident return.
UltraTax/1040-RI automatically prints copies of state returns if you are using UltraTax CS to file a nonresident return for which the credit for taxes paid to other states has been calculated.
If you are using UltraTax CS to file a nonresident return, UltraTax/1040-RI automatically completes the
State postal code
and
State name
fields for the resident state return. If you are not using UltraTax CS to file a nonresident return, enter the state postal code, and UltraTax/1040-RI completes the
State name
field.
If you are using UltraTax CS to complete a nonresident return, UltraTax/1040-RI automatically completes the calculated state AGI for your nonresident state return. Use the
Force
field to enter the state AGI amount if it is different from the calculated amount. If you did not use UltraTax CS to complete a nonresident return, for which you would like to claim this credit, enter the state AGI from that state's return in the
Force
field.
If you are using UltraTax CS to complete a nonresident return, UltraTax/1040-RI automatically completes the calculated
Tax paid to other state
field for your resident state return. You may also use the
Force
field to enter the
Tax paid to other state
amount if it is different from the calculated amount. If you did not use UltraTax CS to complete a return for which you would like to claim this credit, enter the tax paid to the other state in the
Force
field.
If the return is a part-year resident, enter the amount of income taxed by the other state while a resident of Rhode Island.
