Codes

indicate which method you want to use to determine the amount of next year's estimated tax. If you enter option

overpayment
field, UltraTax CS defaults to option 1 in the

field. If you leave both fields blank, UltraTax CS
does not
generate estimate coupons or estimate filing instructions. To enter the
Estimate - declaration for
2026
one time for all new clients, choose Setup, 1040 Individual, and then Tennessee tab and select the New Client Options button.
Amounts for code 5 or 9
Use these fields to specify the estimate amounts for each quarter.
If code
5
is selected in the
Estimate - declaration for
2026
field, enter the desired quarterly payments in these fields. UltraTax CS adjusts these amounts by any overpayment applied and amount already paid, and prints these amounts on the vouchers.
If code
9
is selected in the
Estimate - declaration for
2026
field, enter the desired quarterly payments in these fields. UltraTax CS does not adjust these amounts by any overpayment applied or already paid, and prints these amounts on the vouchers.
Amounts for
2026
estimates paid
Use these fields to enter any estimate payments already made toward the next year's tax liability. These amounts are subtracted from the calculated quarterly gross estimated tax liability to determine the net voucher amounts when the
Estimate - declaration for
2026
is a code other than 9.
Number of
2026
vouchers desired
The number of estimated vouchers defaults to 4. Enter a code in this field to specify fewer than four vouchers. The overpayment and amounts already paid toward next year's estimate are applied to each voucher based on the overpayment code and the quarter in which the amounts were paid.
Amount to round up each estimate
This field allows you to enter rounding specifications for the estimated payments. The estimated payments are rounded to the nearest factor indicated. To round up each estimated payment to the nearest $10, enter
10
in this field. If this field is blank, UltraTax CS automatically rounds each estimated payment up to the next dollar. To enter an amount to round up each estimate one time for all new clients, choose Setup, 1040 Individual, and then Tennessee tab and select the New Client Options button.
Estimate due dates (Force): 1st - 4th quarter
Use these fields to force an estimate due date other than the statutory due dates. Dates entered here are included in the electronic files for direct debit of estimates, the Estimated Tax Worksheet, and in the filing instructions. The Form 172 Quarterly Franchise, Excise Tax Declaration form is not changed.
