F541-160 e-file error

CAWithholding must be ####., rule F541-160).
This error happens when Form 541, line 29 doesn't equal the withholding you entered on the federal W2, W2G, and/or 1099R screens in the Income folder.

Solution

If there is withholding from any other sources (e.g.: passthrough entities) that is on line 29 (including interest and dividends), you must paper file the return.
Otherwise, you can reclassify withholding for California to adjust Line 29:
  1. Open the California Input and select the Payments folder.
  2. Select the Pay tab.
  3. Use the
    Withholding to reclassify
    field to adjust Line 29.
  4. Recreate and retransmit the return.
