Electronic filing forms and payment options

The Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) doesn’t have an e-file mandate for fiduciary returns. You need to make estimated tax payments for returns with taxable income greater than $50,000 using electronic funds transfer (EFT). You need to make extension payments greater than $5,000 using electronic funds withdrawal (EFW) or EFT.
Forms included in the e-file
The Massachusetts DOR and UltraTax CS support electronic filing of the following fiduciary returns:
  • Amended
  • Estimates
  • Extension
Forms not supported for e-filing
The Massachusetts DOR doesn’t accept electronic filing of the following:
  • Returns with Schedule F income from other than part B.
Payment methods
The Massachusetts DOR accepts EFW, EFT, and credit card or online payments through the Massachusetts DOR website.
You need to pay estimated tax payments for returns with taxable income greater than $50,000 by EFT. You need to make extension payments greater than $5,000 by EFW or EFT.
