You can allocate all partners' amounts in the Allocations window, or you can specially allocate a single partner's amounts using the input screen dialogs. The Allocations window is divided into two sections.
Allocation list - Use the list on the left side of the window to select the information you want to view in the allocation scheme group box and grid on the right side of the window.
Allocation scheme group box and allocation grid - Use the group box and the grid on the right side of the window to enter data or view information about amounts that have been specially allocated to the partners.
To open the Allocations window, select the Partner Information button, choose View and then Partner Information, or press CTRL+R, then select the Allocations button.
Allocation list
The Allocation list on the left side of the Allocations window allows you to select the information you want to view in the allocation grid on the right side of the window. Use the drop-down list to select the allocation detail you want to view: All Allocations with Amounts, Only Specially Allocated Amounts, and Custom Allocations.
note
If desired, to increase the size of the allocation grid, you can hide the Allocation list. To hide the Allocation list, choose Setup and then Share Allocations Workspace. When this option is selected, the Allocation list will be hidden. To view the Allocation list, hover your mouse pointer over the Allocation list ribbon.
All Allocations with Amounts
Select this option from the drop-down list to view all existing federal and state amounts that can be allocated to the partners. The folders in this list correlate directly with the input screen folders. Select the items in the Allocation list to filter the allocation information for a specific application, folder, screen, or field. Allocations listed in bold font indicate that the amount has been specially allocated.
Only Specially Allocated Amounts
Select this option from the drop-down list to view all specially allocated amounts in a single list in the allocation grid on the right side of the window.
Custom Allocations
Select this option from the drop-down list to view a list of all custom allocations. After you set up a custom allocation, that custom allocation is available for selection in as many special allocations as desired.
note
The Custom Allocations option is available only if a custom allocation has been created. Choose Edit and then Create Custom to create custom allocations.
<Find screen, alloc name, amt>
Enter a screen name, allocation name, or amount, and select the Go button to find the entered search criteria in the Allocation list. UltraTax CS displays a list of all items in the Allocation list that match the entered search criteria.
note
If Only Specially Allocated Amounts is selected in the drop-down list, UltraTax CS searches the allocation grid on the right side of the screen, rather than the Allocation list.
