Use the statement to record the details of stock purchases to assist in the preparation of Schedule D data entry at the time of their sale.
The statement for
Record of stock purchases
contains all of the fields located in the statement for
Detail schedule
in the
D
screen in the Schedule D folder. When you close the statement for
Record of stock purchases
, any item with data in both the
Date Sold
column and the
Sale Proceeds
column transfers to the statement for
Detail schedule
in the
D
screen, and includes that information in the return. You'll be prompted to verify the transfer of such items when you close the statement. Once transferred, any future modifications will need to be made in the statement for the
Detail schedule
field in the
D
screen.
The amounts of section 481(a) reported on Form 3115 in prior years proforma to this statement. The section 481(a) adjustments entered in this statement are for informational purposes only and don't transfer to the return. Enter any needed adjustments in the screens to which the adjustments apply.
