Screen OrgCon - Organizer Consent to Disclose and Use Return Information (1065)

Use this screen to track consents that the client receives and to enter client-specific information to prepare the Consent Letter with the Business Organizer.

IRC section 7216 requires preparers to receive consent from their clients to use or disclose their tax information for purposes other than preparing their tax return, and in certain limited situations, for purposes involving tax return preparation. This includes using "third party" return data entry services and offering bank products or services such as loans, business consulting, and compiling anonymous statistical data.

If you leave this field blank, the Consent Letter uses "One year from signature date" as the expiration date.
Indicate up to four specific recipients or uses of the tax return information for this client only. The Consent Letter includes an option to affirmatively select the recipients and uses. If these fields are blank, the Consent Letter printed with the Web Business Organizer will include the recipients or uses entered in the
Consent
 tab of the
Organizer Consents
 window. To open this window, select
