Extension

Calculate extension
If you leave this box blank and run the extension utility, UltraTax CS automatically selects the extension form to be used. If the federal return is extended and there is no balance due on the state return, the application won't print Form RPD-41096 because New Mexico accepts federal Form 7004.
If the federal return is extended and there is a balance due on the state return, UltraTax CS will print Form RPD-41096. If the federal return isn't extended, the application will print Form RPD-41096.

Reason for extension
Enter the reason for the extension that prints on Form RPD-41096 in this statement. To enter a reason for extension that applies for all clients in UltraTax CS, select Setup, 1065 Partnership, New Mexico tab, and select Extension.
If the reason for extension is entered in the NMPmt screen, the reason for extension from the Extension statement doesn't print. If you leave this box and
Reason
in the Extension statement, UltraTax CS prints the default line. Additional time is requested to gather information to prepare a complete and accurate return on all extensions for this state application.
Extended due date
If an extension is printed by choosing File, then Print Extensions, the extended due date automatically appears in this box . When this box is completed and
Date
return filed
 is blank, the UltraTax CS uses this date to calculate the penalty. The extended due date also is reflected in the filing instructions.

Penalty

Date return filed
UltraTax CS calculates a penalty if the date entered here is later than the original due date of the return or the extended due date. If blank, the box defaults to the calculated due date of the return.
