NPT Return Information

Use this section to enter information about the NPT electronic file. You'll need to mark
File this return electronically
in the federal ELF screen.
Suppress Philadelphia NPT return electronic file when filing federal return electronically
Use this box to suppress the Philadelphia NPT electronic file when filing the federal return electronically. This feature is also found in the federal ELF screen. If used in the federal screen, and if there are multiple states attached that accept electronic returns, the application doesn't create any electronic state files.
This feature is also a global federal setting for new clients, available in the New Client. Select Setup, 1065 Partnership, Federal tab, and then select New Client Options.
Requested payment date
If this box has a date, the application generates an electronic funds withdrawal payment in the Philadelphia NPT electronic file for the amount of the return’s balance due.

This box is mandatory if using electronic funds withdrawal method.

BIRT Return Information

Use this section to enter information about the BIRT electronic file. You'll need to mark

in the federal ELF screen.
Suppress Philadelphia BIRT return electronic file when filing federal return electronically
Use this box to suppress the Philadelphia BIRT electronic file when filing the federal return electronically. This feature is also found in the federal ELF screen. If used in the federal screen, and if there are multiple states attached that accept electronic returns, the application doesn't create any electronic state files.
This feature is also a global federal setting for new clients, available in the New Client. Select Setup, 1065 Partnership, Federal tab, and then select New Client Options.
Requested payment date

Philadelphia E-file Signature Authorization

Signature date of partner signing return if different from federal Screen ELF
Enter the date Form E-file Signature Authorization is signed by the partnership representative. If this box is blank, the application uses the signature date of partner signing the return in the federal ELF screen for Form E-file Signature Authorization and as the date signed in the Philadelphia electronic file. Enter a date if the federal return isn't being filed electronically or the Philadelphia signature date is different than the federal.

Today’s date will be used as the signature date on Form E-file Signature Authorization and in the electronic file if both of the federal and Philadelphia signature date boxes are blank and
When Form 8879 (etc.) signature date(s) (Preparer and/or Client) are not entered:
use current date

Signature date of electronic return originator (ERO), if different
Enter the date Form E-file Signature Authorization is signed by the ERO (electronic return originator). If this box is blank, the application uses the Philadelphia signature date of partner signing the return for Form E-file Signature Authorization, if it exists. Otherwise, the application uses the signature date of the ERO or partner signing the return in the federal ELF screen. Enter a date if the federal return isn't being filed electronically or the Philadelphia signature date is different than the default.

if you have received a signed Philadelphia Form E-file Signature Authorization. The application uses this information to determine what appears in the filing instructions. The application automatically transfers the selection entered in this box to the Utilities, Electronic Filing Status, and the option selected in
Signature Document
in the Electronic Filing Status transfers to this box.

The application suppresses the printing of Philadelphia Form E-file Signature Authorization if a signed copy of the form has been received. Mark
Always print Form 8879 (etc.), regardless of

in Setup, Office Configuration, then Print Options tab to print Philadelphia Form E-file Signature Authorization if a signed copy has been received.

Personal Identification Number (PIN) Information

Use this section if you are using Practitioner PIN to sign the return electronically. This will generate Form E-file Signature Authorization.
PIN authorization indicator
Enter

if the taxpayer is going to enter the PIN or

if the taxpayer authorized the Electronic Return Originator (ERO) to enter the taxpayer PIN. Enter the code directly or select it from the fieldview. If this box is blank and a PIN number is entered in
Taxpayer PIN
, the application defaults the PIN authorization to the taxpayer entered PIN.
Taxpayer PIN
Enter the taxpayer’s self-selected PIN. Enter any five digits (except 00000). If a method is selected in
PIN authorization indicator
and
Taxpayer PIN
is blank, the application will use the Taxpayer PIN entered in the federal ELF screen.
ERO PIN
Enter the preparer PIN, which is a self-selected set of five digits (except 00000). The actual ERO PIN is an 11-digit number. The application uses the six-digit IRS assigned Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) and the five-digit self-selected PIN to determine the ERO PIN. If a method is selected in
PIN authorization indicator
and
ERO PIN
is blank, the application will use the ERO PIN entered in the federal ELF screen.
