Overview

State
If the
Separate accounting method used
field in the WIGen screen is marked, the application allocates the instate rental and royalty net income based on the state postal code for nonresident and part-year resident partners on Schedule 3K-1, line 2, 3, or 7 column e. All rental and royalty net income is reported on Form 3, line 2, 3, or 7, column d regardless of the postal code designation.
Taxes
The application automatically transfers tax amounts entered in the federal Rent screen to the statement. To exclude an item from the state return, delete the amount, enter a 0, or delete the entire line item from the statement. The application displays the modified column in black and won't overwrite the new data with subsequent federal-to-state data transfers. For more information (including details on setting a user preference to mark fields for which you overruled the transferred amount), see Statements overview.
Depreciation (Force) / Amortization (Force)
Detailed asset data entry determines the depreciation or amortization expense for each rental activity. To enter a different depreciation or amortization amount, use the
Depreciation (Force)
or
Amortization (Force)
field in this input screen. If amounts are entered in detailed asset data entry, the depreciation or amortization forced in the federal Rent screen doesn't appear in this field.
note
If detailed asset data entry isn't used and if the state depreciation or amortization expense differs from the amount entered in the application, use the WI4562 screen to enter the depreciation or amortization expense.
