Print without a carryback

Sometimes Form 1139 prints even if there wasn't a request to carry back a net operating loss from the current year. There's probably a net capital loss in the current year and a net capital gain in at least 1 of 3 preceding tax years.
When there are capital gains in previous years that haven't been offset, there has to be a current-year capital loss carried back. If all capital gains from the preceding 3 years were already offset, go to the
CO
window and open the
Carryovers
folder. Enter the offset amount in the
(Gain Offset) or Loss Utilized
column.
