Shareholder Information > Georgia tab

Use the state tabs in the
Shareholder Information
window to enter state-specific information for shareholders. State tabs appear only if you've added states to the return.
To update a shareholder's state-specific information, select that shareholder in the
Shareholder Information
window, then the state tab.

Fields and buttons — Georgia information group box

If the shareholder is a nonresident, enter a code from the following table or select the code from the dropdown list to indicate the type of nonresident filing to be made by the shareholder. If the shareholder is a nonresident, UltraTax CS defaults to withholding and consent agreement on file for the shareholder.

Select this option to indicate the shareholder is subject to withholding on Form G-2-A and an affidavit is already on file. This is the default filing for nonresident shareholder when a code is not selected from the drop-down list.

Select this option to indicate the shareholder is subject to withholding on Form G-2-A and an affidavit is required for the nonresident shareholder. UltraTax CS completes Form 600S-CA.

to indicate the corporation is filing a composite return on behalf of the nonresident shareholder and an agreement is already on file. UltraTax CS completes Form IT CR for participating nonresident shareholders.

to indicate the corporation is filing a composite return on behalf of the nonresident shareholder and an agreement is required. UltraTax CS completes Form IT CR for participating nonresident shareholders and completes form 600S-CA.
Enter the shareholder's country of residence. UltraTax CS transfers this information to Form 600S-CA.
The shareholder's resident state is displayed in this field.
Enter the state in which the shareholder was a part-year resident. Use this field if you're processing multiple state returns for this client. If applicable, the state uses this information to determine part-year residency status. Enter the state postal code or select the code from the dropdown list.
Enter the dates for which the shareholder was a resident of the part-year state above. Use this field if you are processing multiple state returns for this client. If applicable, the state uses this information to determine part-year residency status.
Use this statement for supplemental information specific to each shareholder and for items that are not pro-rata. If you have pro-rata items that need to be reported to each shareholder, use the GAKSep screen. UltraTax CS prints the information you enter in this statement in a supporting statement on Georgia's Shareholder Worksheet.
Composite return group box
If the shareholder is an individual composite filer, enter a code from the following table or select the code from the dropdown list to indicate the option to compute composite tax. UltraTax CS uses this information to complete the Georgia Composite Tax Computation Worksheet and Form IT-CR - Georgia Nonresident Composite Tax Return. If you leave this field blank, UltraTax CS uses option

if the shareholder is an individual composite filer.

Both the standard deduction and personal exemption and credits will be apportioned on the ratio of the individual shareholder’s Georgia income to the individual shareholder’s share of total S Corporation income. This is the default option for nonresident individual shareholders when a code is not selected from the dropdown list.

Select this option to calculate a flat 6% tax on the nonresident’s income from Georgia operations.

Enter the code for the composite shareholder's filing status from the following table or select the code from the dropdown list. UltraTax CS uses this information to complete the Georgia Composite Shareholder Worksheet and Form IT-CR - Georgia Nonresident Composite Tax Return. If you leave this field blank, UltraTax CS uses the single filing status.

Withholding information group box
UltraTax CS calculates the tax due on distributions to a nonresident shareholder based on property distributions from federal Schedule K-1. Enter an amount to force the shareholder's taxable distributions to a different amount. If you enter an amount less than $1,000, the shareholder is deemed not subject to withholding and Form G-2-A will not print for the shareholder.
UltraTax CS calculated the tax withheld on the taxable income of nonresident shareholders. Enter an amount to force the nonresident shareholder's tax withheld to a different amount.
