Use this tab to enter interest rates and setup information for UltraTax CS/1120 Federal. From this window, you can also open other windows and windows in which you can modify default client documents, set invoice prices, modify the default print conditions for input screens and returns, and enter more 1120-specific information.
To open this tab, select

Fields & buttons
Interest rates
This displays the rates known at the time of shipment. To change the rate for any of the displayed periods, select the field and enter the new rate as a whole number. For example, enter
5
for 5 percent.
Document format section
Separate pages for Transmittal Letter and federal and state Filing Instructions
Select this option to have UltraTax CS print a transmittal letter for each client and separate filing instructions for each federal and state return. Note that this option is marked by default.

To print a separate transmittal letter, but combine the federal and state filing instructions, select

By default, UltraTax CS prints a transmittal letter for each client and separate filing instructions for each federal and state return. Select this option to have UltraTax CS print a separate transmittal letter for each client but combine the federal and state filing instructions into 1 document in letter format.

If you mark this checkbox, the application replaces
Filing Instructions
in all state tabs with
Instructions Insert
, which you can select to view or edit the state's filing instructions.
The the federal filing instructions include state filing instructions at print time but are represented only by a {State Instructions Insert} variable when you select
Filing Instructions

tab. You'll need to use
Instructions Insert
in the state tab to view or edit the state instructions before printing.
Combine Transmittal Letter and Filing Instructions in letter format
By default, UltraTax CS prints a transmittal letter for each client and separate filing instructions for each federal and state return. To combine the transmittal letter and all filing instructions (federal and state) into 1 document in letter format, select this option.
note
If you select this option,
Filing Instructions
in the
Federal
tab is turned off because the federal filing instructions are included in the transmittal letter. Select
Letters & Emails
to view or edit the federal filing instructions that are contained in the letter.
If you select this option,
Filing Instructions
in all state tabs is replaced with
Letter Insert
, which you can select to view or edit the state's filing instructions.
The state filing instructions are included in the combined transmittal letter at print time but are represented only by a {State Instructions Insert} variable when you select

in the

Documents section
Letters & Emails button
Select this button to open the
Letters & Emails
window from which you can open the
Document Editing
window. In this window, you can add up to 5 new transmittal letters, or edit the transmittal letters provided with this product. You can also edit the email greetings listed in the
Email
tab.
Filing Instructions button
Select this button to open the
Filing Instructions
window from which you can open the
Document Editing
window. In this window, you can edit the filing instructions provided with this product.

This button is turned off if you selected
Combine Transmittal Letter and Filing Instructions in letter format

tab.
You can't create new filing instructions, but you can modify the ones provided with UltraTax CS.
Invoice button
Select this button to open either the
Invoices
or
Invoice Pricing
window. Use the
Invoices
window to open the
Document Editing
window. In this window, you can create up to five additional invoices for each product, edit the invoice provided with this product, and select invoice formatting options. Use the
Invoice Pricing
window to enter the amount to charge per form or item for this product.

To override the prices set in the
Invoice Pricing
window on a client-by-client basis, select
View
, then
View/Customize Invoice
.
Tax Elections button
Select this button to open the
Elections
window from which you can open the
Document Editing
window. In this window, you can edit the tax elections provided with this product or add additional elections.
Slipsheets button
Select this button to open the
Slipsheets
window from which you can open the
Document Editing
window. In this window, you can edit the slipsheets provided with this product.
Additional information section
New Client Options button
Select this button to open the
New Client Options
window in which you can set estimates and other options that will apply to all 1120 clients subsequently added to the application.

For clients whose data was converted from another tax application, the options set in the
New Client Options

when you first open the client
will apply.
Other Return Options button
Select this button to open the
Other Return Options
window in which you can set return presentation and other options for all 1120 clients.
Collation section
Input Screens button
Select this button to open either the
Input Screen Printing

Data Entry Display
window. You can use the
Input Screen Printing
window to change the default print conditions of this product's input screens, and the
Data Entry Display
window to configure the order and visibility of input screens and folders for a specific entity.

Tax Return button
Select this button to open the

window in which you can change the default print collations for returns processed with this product or for the Client Organizer package.

Other section
Watch Fields button
Select this button to open the
Watch Fields
window, which you can use to modify or remove existing watch fields or their descriptions. You can also restore the default watch fields and descriptions using the

You can't add new watch fields using the window opened by this button. To add new watch fields, right-click the field in form view and select
Watch Field
from the context menu.
Client Complexity button
Select this button to open the
Client Complexity
window to modify the default complexity values for all clients for the installed returns and product and the federal input screens. You may also use this window to restore the default complexity values or print a report of the entered complexity values.
note
You can define a client-specific complexity value to be added to the calculated value based on amounts that you set in the
Client Complexity
window or override the calculated complexity value on a client-by-client basis on the
