Overview
Use this screen to complete Form 4797, Sale of Business Property, and to calculate adjustments shown on Form D-20 due to federal and state basis differences. All sales information transfers directly to the DCSale Screen from detailed asset data entry and is then used to complete Form 4797.
Forms 4797 and 6252 - General Information
Treatment
The treatment code describes the nature of the asset and tells the application where to transfer the information on Form 4797 or Schedule D. Note that the asset module automatically enters the code based on the nature of the asset. Enter a treatment code directly or from the drop-down list.
State does not conform to Section 179 QRP treatment
The application automatically marks this box to indicate that the corresponding federal sale of Section 179 QRP does not apply for state purposes, so the sale is not reported. The screen is completed for consistency with the corresponding federal screen unit.
