Suppress Maryland electronic file(s) when filing federal return or extension electronically
If this box is marked, the application creates the federal electronic file only, and suppresses the Maryland electronic file(s).

If this box is marked and Maryland estimates are marked to be filed electronically, the application creates the estimate electronic files only, and suppresses the Maryland electronic file(s) for the return and extension.

Electronic funds withdrawal for balance due returns: Requested payment date
Enter the date to direct debit the amount due on the tax return. You may enter a date no later than the original due date of the return. If preparing an electronic file after the return due date, enter the date of preparation in this box. Electronic funds withdrawal isn't available for amended tax returns.

Requested payment date is a mandatory box if using electronic funds withdrawal.
Electronic filing lets electronic filers with a balance due to authorize a direct transfer from their checking or savings account. Using this lets electronic filers file early and set a date for automatic payment if there's a balance due.

In addition to entering the requested payment date, you'll also need to enter bank account information in the MDBank screen if a payment will be made by electronic funds withdrawal.
Electronic funds withdrawal for balance due returns: Amount of tax payment (Force)
Enter an amount only if a partial payment of the return balance due is being made through electronic funds withdrawal. If this box is blank, the application uses the total balance due on the return for the electronic funds withdrawal amount if electronic funds withdrawal is indicated.
Electronic funds withdrawal for extension: Requested payment date
Enter the date to direct debit the amount due on the extension. You may enter a date no later than the original due date of the extension.

Method of payment for balance due on Form 500
Select a payment method from the dropdown list if filing both Forms 510 and 500 electronically and Form 500 shows an amount due. If this box is blank, the application defaults to printing a payment voucher. If electronic funds withdrawal is selected, bank information will need to also be completed in the MDBank screen or the federal Bank screen.

This box only applies to the balance due on Form 500. Payment information for the balance due on Form 510 should be entered in the General Information section of this screen.
Requested payment date
If electronic funds withdrawal was selected from
Method of payment for balance due on Form 500
, enter the requested withdrawal date for the balance due. This box is mandatory if using electronic funds withdrawal.

This box only applies to the balance due on Form 500. Payment information for the balance due on Form 510 should be entered in the General Information section of this screen.

Electronic funds withdrawal for estimated payments: Create Electronic File

for each estimate payment to be electronically filed. The application generates an electronic funds withdrawal payment for the Form 510D or 500D vouchers that are marked to print and have an amount greater than zero. Enter estimate information in the MDEst screen.

To instruct the client to pay by electronic funds transfer instead of electronic withdrawal, leave these boxes blank and select the
Estimates filing instruction
box in the MDLetter screen.
Electronic funds withdrawal for estimated payments: Withdrawal Date If Different
Enter a date earlier than the quarterly due date for the electronic funds withdrawal of the respective quarter’s Form 510D or 500D estimate amount. If a box is blank, the application uses the quarterly due date of the estimate.
