Overview

Use this screen to complete Form 4897, Michigan Corporate Income Tax Data on Unitary Business Group Members, or Form 4910, Michigan Corporate Income Tax Unitary Business Group Combined Filing Schedule for Financial Institutions. To enable the MIUGen Screen, select the
Designated Member
checkbox in the Michigan tab of the Client Properties window in the designated member only.
The MIUGen screen is a multiple-unit input screen. The first unit of the input screen is always for the designated member responsible for filing the state return on behalf of the unitary business group. A separate unit of the unitary input screens should be added for each member corporation. For each member, a unique unit number is assigned to the input screens in the Unitary folder.
The application enables you to share unitary information from the member returns to the designated member’s return for the group return. For each member to share data with the designated member, enter the designated member’s EIN in the Michigan tab of the Client Properties window. Don't select the
Designated Member
checkbox in a member return. Print preview each member’s return to store information for data sharing. For the designated member to retrieve the shared data, select the
Designated Member
checkbox in the Client Properties window.
