Adjustments for State Differences in Depreciation

Current year adjustment for IRC Section 179 expense
The application calculates the
Calculated Amount
based on data entered in the asset module. Use the
Force
field to enter the amount if you aren't using the asset module.
Add-back of enhanced depreciation deductions
The application calculates the depreciation add-back for bonus depreciation and IRC Section 179 expense at 5/6 of the federal deduction. The codes available in the dropdown list instruct the application how to calculate the add-back and the length of time you can deduct it if you're affected by Ohio legislation HB 365.
note
The addition of current year Section 179 expense is the amount taken on the federal return above $25,000 and then multiplied by your add-back choice. This amount appears in the OH Shareholder's Depreciation Adjustment Worksheet, Form IT 4708, Schedule II, Form IT 1140, Schedule II, and Form IT 4738, Schedule II.
