I-101 or I-101SF e-file error

((The Submitted Date is greater than the original due date, and Form 5500/5500-SF, Part I, Line D Form 5558, automatic extension, DFVC, or special extension is not checked) or (the Submitted Date is greater than the original due date + 78 days and Form 5500/5500-SF, Part I, Line D Form 5558 is checked and Form 5500/5500-SF, Part I Line D DFVC or special extension is not checked)) and the filing is not an amended filing and reasonable cause is not attached. << WARNING ONLY >>
The submitted date is late, according to the IRS, and can be because of a missing attachment or a reason they'd like to discuss with you.

Solution

If the error came with an acceptance, no further action is required. The error is a warning that the IRS may contact you.If the error came with a rejection, follow the steps below to attach an explanation.
  1. Open the Edit menu and select Electronic Filing Attachments.
  2. Select Add.
  3. In the
    Product
    drop-down, choose
    Federal
    .
  4. In the
    Attachment title
    drop-down, choose
    Reasonable Cause for late filing
    . Do not modify the title or type into the field.
  5. Select Browse and choose the PDF you want to attach.
  6. Select OK to add the attachment.
  7. Recreate and retransmit the return.
