Payments

Prior year overpayment
Enter any prior year overpayment. This amount displays on Page 2 of the return and treats it as a first-quarter payment for calculating Form 500UP. Don't include this amount again in the
1st
field.
Total, or
Enter the date and amount of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th estimated payments. The amounts are considered timely unless you enter dates in the
Date Paid
fields. After you enter amounts in the separate payment fields, the
Total, or
field is ignored.
Treat calculated amounts as paid
The calculated estimates are proforma’d if they were used to prepare the client’s prior year return. When you enter
X
in this field, the amounts copy to the
Amount Paid
column from the
Calculated Amount
column. The amounts are considered timely unless you enter dates in the
Date Paid
column.

Extension

Extended due date: Registration
The State of Maryland automatically grants an extension for the Annual Update of Registration. Enter the date you want to display on the filing instructions. If the return wasn't put on an extension, leave this field blank.
Extended due date: Form 500
If you print an extension by choosing File > Print Extensions, the extended due date appears in this field. Otherwise, enter the date to use as the extended due date in the filing instructions.
Balance due on extension (Force)
The amount you enter is used to:
  • calculate the amount of total tax using the estimated payments and withholding entered
  • completes the
    Extended due date
    field
  • places the amount entered in the Payments section
