Asset Import tabs

Use the Asset Import tabs to import asset information from the Fixed Assets Inventory module or from UltraTax/1040 Web Client Organizer, or to modify association values for assets that were disposed during the prior year.
The Asset Import tabs appear at the bottom of the Asset List window if asset data is available to import from the Fixed Assets Inventory module or UltraTax/1040 Web Client Organizer. The tabs that appear vary depending on the activity that is selected in the folders block.
You may see up to three Asset Import tabs at one time. See the following descriptions about each tab, including details about accepting, discarding, or modifying information in each tab.
This tab lists information for new assets that were entered in the Fixed Assets Inventory module or on the Depreciation - Asset Acquisitions form in the UltraTax/1040 Web Client Organizer.
  • Accepting
    information in this tab adds the asset to the client using the next available asset number. Then, the Asset Detail window opens for the new asset, where you'll need to enter the asset information.
  • Discarding
    an asset that is listed in this tab deletes the asset.
This tab lists asset disposal information that was entered in the Fixed Assets Inventory module or on the Depreciation - Asset List form in the UltraTax/1040 Web Client Organizer.
  • Accepting
    information in this tab transfers the disposal information to the asset with the same asset number in the Asset List window above. Then, the Disposal tab of the Asset Detail window opens for the disposed asset and the application enters the disposal information.
  • Discarding
    an asset that is listed in this tab deletes the asset.
This tab lists any home office or vehicle information that was entered in the Fixed Assets Inventory module or on any of the following UltraTax/1040 Web Client Organizer forms: 8829, 2106, or the Auto Worksheet.
  • Accepting
    information in this tab transfers the home office or auto information to the asset with the same asset number in the Asset List window above. Then, either the Vehicle/Listed tab or the Home Office tab of the Asset Detail window opens for the asset and the application enters the updated home office or auto information.
  • Discarding
    an asset that is listed in this tab deletes the asset.
This tab lists any assets that were disposed or transferred during the prior year. These assets are needed for California, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia personal property tax returns. You can modify the association values that are assigned to assets listed in this tab that affect the personal property tax return being processed for the client.
This tab appears only when both of the following conditions exist.
  • All changes in the Updates tab are either accepted or discarded.
  • The
    Display prior year disposals/transfers that occurred during the personal property assessment period ending
    checkbox is marked in the Setup, Options, Asset List tab.

Fields and buttons

This list contains asset information that was imported from the Fixed Assets Inventory module or from UltraTax/1040 Web Client Organizer forms. The information in this list depends on which Asset Import tab is selected and which activity folder is selected in the folders block.
Select this to accept the information for the currently selected asset. The asset will be added to the client.
Select this to discard the information for the currently selected asset. The information will be deleted.
Select this to accept all inventory information that appears in the current Asset Import tab.
