UltraTax CS and Fixed Assets CS: Restore CSD files on Virtual Office CS

When using UltraTax CS or Fixed Assets CS in Virtual Office CS, you must restore CSD backup files from within Microsoft Outlook on Virtual Office CS, or by using one of the other methods listed in this article. If trying to execute/restore the backup file from within a local version Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express (or a local folder), the local environment won’t restore the client to Virtual Office.
Use one of the following options to restore a CSD backup file in Virtual Office.
Microsoft Outlook on Virtual Office
If the CSD file is attached to an email within Microsoft Outlook on Virtual Office, double-click the attachment to access the
Restore
window. Then, select
Restore
to restore the client backup file.
FileCabinet CS on Virtual Office
If you have FileCabinet CS on Virtual Office, you're able to open your C: drive by right-clicking on any drawer and selecting the option
Open C: drive on local machine (V:)
. If you save the file to your C: drive you should then be able to go to it through FileCabinet CS, double-click the CSD file to access the
Restore
window, and select
Restore
to restore the client backup file.
Custom Link in UltraTax CS or Fixed Assets CS on Virtual Office
The
Custom Links
window lets you place a link to your local C: drive on the UltraTax CS or Fixed Assets CS homepage. To restore a CSD file on Virtual Office:
  1. Type
    V:\
    in the
    Link to: File
    field in the
    Custom Link
    window.
  2. Select
    Enter
    , then
    OK
    .
  3. Select the
    Homepage
    button.
  4. Select the
    Custom Link
    icon.
  5. If your file was saved to your local C: drive you should be able to go to it and double select the CSD file. This will open the restore window.
  6. Select
    Restore
    to restore the client backup file.
