Transfer shared data to Statement windows

You can use the data sharing feature to share some statement window data, but you need to take some further steps to transfer the data.
important
The preparer should diligently review all data that's shared with clients.
  1. Select
    File
    , then
    Open
and choose the client whose data you want to update.
  2. If the
    Data Sharing - Pending Updates
    window doesn't open, select
    Utilities
    ,
    Data Sharing
    , then
    Updates
    to open it.
  3. Select
    Add Unit
    or
    Review
to view pending updates in the
    Data Sharing — Update
    window.
  4. Select
Accept and import new source data
to accept the new data for the items.
If the accepted data includes information that belongs in a statement, UltraTax CS opens that statement window with the pending information shown in blue italic.
  5. Choose how to deal with the pending information:
    • To accept pending information, select
      Done
      in the statement window.
    • To
      postpone
      the pending data, select
      X
      .
    note
If you postpone, you can accept the data later.
    1. Go to the input screen that includes the statement.
    2. Select the red
      Statement
button next to a pending shared amount.
    3. Select
      Accept
next to the items you want to update, then
      OK
      .
  6. If you postpone, you can accept the date later:
    1. Go to the input screen that includes the statement.
    2. Select the red
      Statement
button next to a pending shared amount.
    3. Select
      Accept
next to the items you want to update, then
      OK
      .
    note
    • Shared State if Different (SID) amounts won't include any interest and dividend income amounts due to data entry requirements in the federal interest and dividend statement windows for correct state income allocation.
    • For states that include interest and dividend income in the Net/Ordinary income reported on the state K1, the amount shared for Ordinary Income will be net of interest and dividends and won't match the K1.
