Set up integration with TaxCaddy

Before you can integrate with SurePrep TaxCaddy, you'll need to contact SurePrep support and enable APIs.
Starting in UltraTax CS 2023, you can send your 1040 client list in UltraTax CS to create clients in TaxCaddy. The setup process for this is the same if you're on Virtual Office or Software as a Service (SaaS), or have UltraTax CS locally installed.
This is a one-time setup.
  1. In UltraTax CS, go to
    Setup
    , then
    System Configuration
    .
  2. On the
    SurePrep API
    tab, mark the
    Enable SurePrep Integration
    checkbox if not already marked.
  3. Select
    Import API Key
    .
  4. Enter your SurePrep credentials in the fields provided. To find this information:
    1. Sign into SurePrep and go to the
      Admin
      screen.
    2. Select
      API
      from the toolbar.
    3. The
      User Management
      tab will have your username and password.
    4. The
      Key Management
      tab will have the API key.
    5. In
      Staff email
      , enter the Owner for the clients in TaxCaddy.
  5. Select
    Test Connection
    to verify your credentials.
  6. Once your credentials are verified, select
    Save
    .
