Set up integration with SurePrep SPbinder

When UltraTax CS is local, you only need to set up SurePrep to create binders and custom DRLs. If you're on Virtual Office or SaaS, you'll need to enable integration in UltraTax CS.
If you want to create binders and custom DRLs using a locally installed version of UltraTax CS (you're not on Virtual Office or Saas), you don't need to do any setup in UltraTax CS. Just make sure you have client data available and take note of your file locations in
Setup
>
User Preferences
>
File Locations
tab. In SurePrep, you'll need toActivate UltraTax CS in SurePrep.
If you're on Virtual Office or Software as a Service (SaaS), you'll need to enable integration and generate API keys in UltraTax CS.
  1. In UltraTax CS, go to
    Setup
    , then
    System Configuration
    .
  2. On the
    SurePrep API
    tab, select the
    Enable SurePrep Integration
    checkbox.
  3. Select
    Generate API Key
    .
  4. Select
    Add
    to create a new API key for your firm.
  5. Enter a name for the key, then select
    Enter
    to create it.
  6. Select the API key you generated from the list.
  7. Select
    Copy
    to copy the key you'll paste in SurePrep.
  8. Sign into SurePrep and go to the
    Admin
    screen.
  9. Select
    Account Setup
    from the toolbar, then
    Tax File Activation Web
    .
  10. On the
    UltraTax CS
    tab, paste the key in
    API Key
    .
  11. Enter your
    UltraTax CS Firm ID
    .
