Resolve fixed asset data not available for proforma

You might get the following error message after you proforma a client's return from the prior-year version of UltraTax CS.
Not completed - Fixed asset data unavailable for proforma
This error can be the result of a client lock or the asset location being not available.
Do the following steps to resolve the error. After each step, try to proforma the client again.
  1. Make sure that the client is closed in Fixed Assets CS and prior years of UltraTax CS.
  2. Delete any client locks for the client.
  3. Verify the data locations.
    1. Select
      Utilities
      , then
      Proforma
      .
    2. Select
      Change UltraTax CS
      , then
      Location
      .
    3. Verify that the location for the Fixed Assets CS client data is pointing to the correct location.
    4. If it's not, select the Fixed Assets CS client data and select
      Modify
      .
    5. Select the correct location.
  4. Open the prior-year return and open any
    Asset
    tab.
  5. If you don't use Fixed Assets CS andβ€”
    • The client doesn't have any assets:
      1. Go to
        X:\wincsi\deprdata
        , where X is the drive your depreciation data is located.
      2. Delete the folder with the Client ID.
    • The client has assets:
      1. Go to
        X:\wincsi\deprdata\$depcid
        , where X is the drive your depreciation data is located.
      2. Delete the file that includes the Client ID.
  6. If your firm does have the Fixed Assets CS application:
    1. Open Fixed Assets CS.
    2. Open the client.
    3. Select
      File
      , then select
      Period to Process
      .
    4. Select the most recent prior year, then select
      Move to Selected Period
      .
    5. Select
      File
      , then select
      Period to Process
      again.
    6. Select
      Close to Next Year
      .
    7. Select
      Merge
      .
    8. Proforma the client again.
  7. Proforma from a backup:
    1. Back up the prior-year client.
    2. In the current year of UltraTax CS, select
      Utilities
      , then
      Proforma
      .
    3. Select
      Backup
      to locate your backup location.
  8. In the prior year of UltraTax, copy the client and try to proforma the new client.
