Error: Cannot find C:\Wincsi\Tools\CSLP.exe

Scenario

You may see this error while installing UltraTax CS or Fixed Assets CS.
Cannot find C:\Wincsi\Tools\CSLP.exe

Cause

The file doesn't exist or the path to the file is wrong.

Solution

  1. Go to X:\WinCSI\Tools\ where
    X
     is equivalent to the drive letter the application is installed to.
  2. Find the
    CSITOOLS.TXT
     file.
  3. Right-click, then select
    Open with
    , then
    Notepad
    .
  4. Look for a mention of
    WinCSI\Tools\CSLP.exe
    .
  5. Make sure the mapped drive or network location of
    WinCSI\Tools\CSLP.exe
     is correct. If it's not correct, manually type the right location. For example, if it says C:\WinCSI\Tools\CSLP.exe but it should be your network location, manually replace C with the correct letter drive.
  6. Select
    File
    , then
    Save
    .
  7. Close the text file.
  8. Still within to the
    WinCSI\Tools
     folder, look for the
    CSLP.exe
     file.
  9. If the
    CSLP.exe
     file isn't there, ask your IT professional to set the required antivirus exceptions and run the installation again.
  10. If the file is there, ask your IT professional to grant the required permissions to the person running the installation.
