Power BI Panel
The Power BI panel displays interactive Power BI reports and dashboards directly within a HighQ page, providing users with quick access to business data and analytics. Reports can be embedded from iSheet data or from pre-registered Power BI reports, enabling a centralised reporting experience.
note
- Only published Power BI dashboards can be used with this panel. Use Power BI Desktop to publish your dashboards.
- This panel is available only for System-level and Custom Page dashboards. It is available as an additional add-on for allHighQ Premiumclients. You can create one Power BI panel in trial mode. To enable the full version, please contact your Account Manager or Customer Success representative.

The panel supports features such as report filtering, multi-page navigation, and role-based data access through Row-Level Security (RLS). It can be used to present operational metrics, project dashboards, performance reports, and other data-driven insights within a site.
Creating a Power BI panel
To add a Power BI panel, select the
Power BI
option from the Enhanced Interactive Data Visualisation
section of the Interactive Data Visualisation
panels selector.
The Power BI configuration modal will open. Work through each tab to configure the panel.
General

- Include pagination- Enables navigation controls that allow users to move between pages in a multi-page Power BI report using arrows and a page selector.
- Hide hidden Pages- Removes pages marked as hidden from the page navigation controls, ensuring that only visible report pages are available to users.
- Enable filter pane- Displays the Power BI filter pane, allowing users to interactively filter and refine the data shown in the report.
Permission types
Permission type determines the level of access granted to an embedded Power BI report; the current implementation supports read-only access, allowing users to view reports without editing them.

Row level security
Restricts report data based on the user's identity or site context, ensuring that users only see the data they are authorised to access within a Power BI report.

Selecting
Create new report
allows you to add a new Power BI report to the system, set its display name, provide Power BI link, and optionally configure Row level security by assigning a role for viewers.- Name- Sets the display name for the Power BI report. Enter a descriptive title (e.g. [Client] Financial Report) in the field.
- Power BI Link- Defines the source URL for the Power BI report. Copy and paste the full-page link from Power BI into this field.
- Role- Specifies the viewer role for Row Level Security in Power BI. Enter the role name defined in Power BI (e.g. "Client"). Leave blank if no role-based filtering is required.
Similarly,
Use existing report
option allows you to quickly embed a previously registered Power BI report with all its associated security and filtering settings, without needing to re-enter configuration details. This is useful for reusing reports across different pages or contexts within HighQ.Site-based filtering
Ensures that Power BI reports display only the data relevant to the current HighQ site, by passing the site's ID as custom data for filtering within the report.

iSheet permissions
Allows you to embed a report tied to a specific iSheet, with access controlled by iSheet-based group permissions rather than Power BI roles.
note
Access to data displayed in the Power BI panel is controlled by Power BI panel permissions. When Power BI panels use iSheet data through OData Manager, iSheet permissions do not apply to the underlying iSheet records.

- iSheet site- Specifies the HighQ site (workspace or portal) where the iSheet and its associated Power BI report are located and managed.
- Name- Enter a descriptive name for the report (see Create new report above for guidance).
- Power BI Link- Paste the direct link to the Power BI report (see Create new report above for guidance).
- Restrict access to this report:
- Yes- Restricts access based on iSheet permissions (recommended for sensitive data).
- No- Makes the report visible to all users with access to the site.
- Allowed groups- Defines which user groups are permitted to access the embedded Power BI report, providing a way to control visibility and protect sensitive information. The list is sourced from the user groups configured in the selected HighQ site.
