Search tips
You can choose from many different search tools to find content in Practical Law.
- Search within an app — choose from theThomson Reuters productsdropdown list, which includes other legal products you subscribe to, such as Books and Westlaw UK.
- Search within UK or other jurisdictions — select eitherUK HomeorGlobal Home.
- Search within a single practice area or sector — choose a practice area or sector from theSearch indropdown list.
- Search only a single resource type — select theBrowse Menu, then a resource type.
- Search within a document — open the document and selectKeyword Finder.
- Search within 1 or multiple resource types, practice areas, jurisdictions, and sectors — enter your search terms, then use the Filter controls to apply 1 or multiple filters to your search results.
- Enter your search as a question to use Dynamic Search.
- Repeat a recent search — selectHistory,View allnext toRecent Searchesand choose a search.
- Search within yourFavourites.
- Search within yourFolders.
- Sort your search results byRelevanceorDate.
- ChooseLess detail,More detail, orMost detailto change your view of the search results.
- Add search terms and connectors to make more precise searches.
- Add field restrictions to narrow your search.
