Sales tax on products
Thomson Reuters adds sales tax for products sold based on state laws.
What's taxable?
Each state has their own rules for what's taxable; therefore, not all products and services sold by Thomson Reuters will have sales tax applied.
Exempt from sales tax
If you're exempt from sales tax, you can register your tax exemption with us by completing the Tax Exempt Status form and submitting a copy of your Tax Exempt Certificate. Once received, we'll contact you within 4 to 5 business days.
Note that our tax exemption team requires two tax exemption certificates to be on file. The first exemption certificate should be issued to seller/vendor named as "Thomson Reuters (Tax & Accounting) Inc." and the second exemption certificate should be issued to seller/vendor name as "Thomson Reuters Enterprise Centre GmbH."
If you are a government agency (Federal, State and Local) or a publicly funded educational institution then no "Thomson Reuters Enterprise Centre GmbH" exemption certificate is required. The seller/vendor name on the tax exemption certificate should be entered as "Thomson Reuters (Tax & Accounting) Inc."
