Add or delete initial open items

You are able to add or delete initial open items within initial open items in Accounting CS.

Add an initial open item

  1. Select
    Actions
    , then
    Reconcile Bank Accounts
    or
    Reconcile Impound Bank Accounts
    .
  2. Select
    Edit
    and then
    Initial Open Items
    .
  3. In the
    Open Item Detail
    , enter in transit or outstanding items from the last bank reconciliation that was created in a different application.
  4. Select
    Type
    and enter the date and amount.
    note
    The Reference, ID, Payee/Description are helpful and optional.
  5. Select
    Add
    to save.
  6. Select
    Done
    when all initial open items are entered.
    tip
    If you have transactions to enter, you can enter the sum of the transactions that are cleared on the reconciliation you are currently working in. Then, enter the rest of the transactions individually.

Delete an initial open item

  1. Select
    Actions
    , then
    Reconcile Bank Accounts
    or
    Reconcile Impound Bank Accounts
    .
  2. Select
    Edit
    and then
    Initial Open Items
    .
  3. In the
    Initial Open Item Dialog
    , highlight the adjustment row you would like to remove by selecting the box near the
    Type
    column.
  4. Select
    Delete
    .
  5. Select
    Done
    .
    note
    To remove an initial open item from a finalized reconciliation or from a prior period, you first need to unfinalize the reconciliation.
