Client templates

You can use client templates to add new client records, set up common firm-level policies, and provide a time-saving mechanism across clients that are in similar industries. Client templates are automatically installed with new installations of Accounting CS, version 2013.1.0 or higher. If you already have a prior version of the application installed, do the following to download and restore the client templates.

Templates

The following sample client templates are available in the application.
  • Accounting Template (ACSACC01)
  • Architecture Template (ACSARC01)
  • Construction Template (ACSCON01)
  • Consulting Template (ACSCON02)
  • Legal Template (ACSLEG01)
  • Medical Template (ACSMED01)
  • Nonprofit Template (ACSNON01)
  • Partnership Template (ACSPAR01)
  • Payroll Template (ACSPAY01)
  • Restaurant Template (ACSRES01)
  • Retail Template (ACSRET01)
  • S Corporation Template (ACSSCO01)
  • Service Business Template (ACSSER01)
  • Sole Proprietor Template (ACSSOL01)

Download and restore the client templates

  1. Select the Accounting CS Client Templates ZIP file and download it to your local drive.
  2. When the download is complete, extract the files from the ZIP file and copy them into
    X:\WINCSI\Accounting CS Data\Backup
    , (where X: is the drive location where Accounting CS Shared Files are installed).
  3. In the application, select
    File
     then
    Client Data Management Utility
    .
  4. Select
    Restore
     from the dropdown in the
    Action
     field.
  5. Mark the checkbox next to the client template to restore, then select
    Restore Selected
    .
  6. Repeat the previous step if you need to restore another template.
note
  • You can restore only 1 client template at a time using the Client Data Management Utility.
  • If you already have a version prior to 2013.1.0 of Accounting CS installed, be sure to create a folder called
    Backup
     in the
    X:\WINCSI\Accounting CS Data\Data
     folder before extracting the contents of the Accounting CS Template Clients ZIP file.
  • To restore sample client templates in Accounting CS via Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS), select
    Browse
     in the
    Client Data Management Utility
     screen. In the
    Browse For Folder
     window, select the plus sign (+) to expand the folders for
    Computer
     then
    C$ (\\Client) (V:)
    , and then go to the application's backup folder location on your local drive.
