Manage inactive employee status
When an employee leaves your company, you'll need to update their status. Follow these steps to manage employee records effectively.
Change an employee's status to inactive
- SelectSetup, thenEmployees.
- Select the client and employee.
- SelectEdit.
- Go to thePersonaltab.
- Enter the last day of employment in theInactive Datefield.
- SelectEnter. The employee will no longer display in the list.
View inactive employees in the Employees screen
- SelectSetup, thenEmployees.
- MarkInclude inactive. Inactive employees will display in italics.
View inactive employees in the Enter Transactions screen
- SelectActions, thenEnter Transactions.
- SelectEdit, thenOptions.
- Select thePayrolltab.
- Mark theInclude inactive employeescheckbox.
- SelectOK.
Exclude inactive employees from reports
- SelectFile, thenPrint Reports.
- Select the report.
- In the Filtering and Sorting section, select theEmployeetab (if available).
- SelectStatusin theFilter byfield.
- Selectisin theMethodfield.
- SelectActivefrom theSelecteddropdown.
Reactivate an employee
- SelectSetup, thenEmployees.
- Select thePersonaltab, thenEdit.
- Mark theInclude inactivecheckbox to display the employee.
- Do 1 of the following:
- Clear theInactive datefield.
- Enter a newHire datelater than theInactive date.
