or a third-party PDF editor

Go to
Setup
,
Firm Information
, then
Firm
.
Select the
Preferences
tab.
Mark the
Open PDF workpapers in native PDF application
checkbox.

View the toolbars

Press
F11
  if you no toolbars are visible.
Press
F9
if some toolbars are visible, but not the command menu bar containing File and Edit.
Press
F8
if the command menu bar is visible but there are no other toolbars.

Toolbar font settings

Select
Typewriter
on the
Comment and Markup
toolbar.
Select a place within the PDF workpaper where you want to begin entering text.
Change the font settings in the
Properties
toolbar.
If you want to use these settings every time, select
Make Default
on the
Properties
Toolbar.

Alternatives to the

Text Highlighter

tool

Select
Document
, then
OCR Pages
or select the
OCR
icon on the toolbar.
note
This identifies text entered on the document. It doesn't send your documents to the Thomson Reuters data center for Source Document Processing.
Use the
Rectangle Tool
to insert a box, then change the border, fill, and opacity settings on the
Properties
toolbar to give it a yellow, partially transparent fill.

Use Workpapers CS calculator as a calculator tape tool

Use the

PDF Editor

to annotate and modify workpapers

Hold
Shift
and right-click the
Accounting CS
or
Workpapers CS
icon. You may need to select from multiple icons to open the correct window.
Select
Move
.
Use arrow keys to move the window until it appears.

Include PDF annotations when printing a binder

In the Engagement Binder Tree portlet on the Workpapers Dashboard, select the binder.
Right-click the binder, then select
Print
.
In the
Print
window, select
Options
.
Mark the
Include PDF annotations
checkbox.
Select
OK
to close the
Options
window.

Organize windows in the

PDF Editor

Select
View
, then
Customize User interface
.
Right-click the binder, then select
Print
.
Go to the General category and clear the
Tabbed Documents
checkbox in the Documents Layout section.
