Make a bank account active or inactive

If your client no longer uses a particular bank account, you can change the status of a bank account to inactive. Inactive bank accounts aren't available for selection on new transactions or vendor records.

Change the bank account status to inactive

  1. Select
    Setup
    then
    Bank Accounts
    .
  2. Select the bank account you need then select
    Edit
    .
  3. Mark the
    Inactive
    checkbox in the
    Main
    tab and save the bank account record.

Change the bank account status to active

  1. Select
    Setup
    then
    Bank Accounts
    .
  2. Mark the
    Include inactive
    checkbox in the upper-right corner of the screen to show all active and inactive bank accounts.
  3. Select the bank account you want to reactivate then select
    Edit
    .
  4. Clear the
    Inactive
    checkbox in the
    Main
    tab and save the bank account record.
note
If an inactive bank account has been selected for any existing unprinted checks, bank account transaction templates, or vendor records, it's important that you select a different (active) bank account for those items. The application will print the checks selected in the
File
then
Print Checks
screen, regardless of the bank account status.
