Turn on Employee Self-Service
Set up a client for Employee Self-Service
- SelectSetupthenClients.
- Select thePayroll Informationtab.
- Select the client then selectEdit.
- In the Employee Data Integration section, mark the$ Employee Self-Servicecheckbox.note
- When this checkbox is marked, the client has access to all Employee Self-Service functionality, and Employee Self-Service is automatically turned on for all of the client's employees. If necessary, however, you can turn off Employee Self-Service for individual employees.
- Your firm must be licensed for Accounting CS (including payroll and payroll compliance for clients who will be doing time entry) and NetFirm to use Employee Self-Service. If this checkbox is grayed out and not available, verify that you've downloaded and applied your Accounting CS license after you paid the Employee Self-Service fees.
- SelectEnterto save the updated client setting.
After you select

, an email is sent to all employees for the client asking them to register their Employee Self-Service portal. The email is sent from no-reply@thomsonreuters.com
and may end up in the spam folder. If you haven't added any employees yet, the email won't be sent. Refer to the following section if you need to add new employees.Add employees for Employee Self-Service
Do the following if you need to add employees:
- SelectSetupthenEmployeesto add information for the client's employees.noteIn theMaintab of theEmployeesscreen, be sure to enter a valid email address for each applicable employee.
- If this is the 1st time Employee Self-Service has been enabled for this client, a registration email will automatically be sent to all employees with a valid email address specified in theMaintab of theEmployeesscreen.note
- The email provides a link that directs the employee to the NetClient CS account registration page, where the employee can create sign in credentials to access their account.
- You can edit notification templates and delivery methods in NetClient CS if you want to change the format and content of the registration email. SelectUser ActivationthenEmployee Self-Service templateto make the changes.
Resend a registration email message to an employee
Do the following if you need to resend a registration email message to a specific employee:
- SelectSetupthenEmployees.
- Select the employee you want to send the email message to, then selectEdit.
- On theMaintab of theEmployeesscreen, verify that a valid email address is specified in theEmailfield.
- Select thePersonaltab.
- In the Web Access section, selectSend Registration Email.The email will be sent when Employee Self-Service information is uploaded.

After an employee has been registered for Employee Self-Service,
Send Registration Email
is grayed out and not available for that employee.
