Import from ATB for Windows
There isn't a direct import into
Accounting CS
from Accountant’s Trial Balance (ATB) for Windows. However, you can export your ATB Windows data into a spreadsheet and then import the spreadsheet into Workpapers CS.Do the following to export the data to a spreadsheet from ATB for Windows:
- With the company opened in ATB for Windows, selectFile / Export Data.
- In theExport Datawindow, select a Data Type. You can select theAll Account Information.
- Mark the File Type ofComma Delimitedand selectOK.
- Enter a file name for the CSV file.
- Choose a folder to save the CSV file.
- SelectOK.
- In theSelect columns to exportwindow, select the appropriate Available Columns to export. Select the necessary information to import intoAccounting CS, such as the account number, description, and the balances. You could optionally choose to export the grouping schedule assignments as well.
- SelectOKto export.
- Open Microsoft Excel and go to the CSV file that you exported from ATB for Windows.
- Once the CSV file is opened, selectFile, thenSave Asand save it as an Excel file.
- You're now ready to import intoAccounting CS.
- Use theSpreadsheet import - Chart of Accountsto import the ATB for Windows Chart of Accounts data (account number, description, balance information, and account groupings).
