Migrate from Workpapers CS to Accounting CS

If you begin offering write-up or payroll services after buying Workpapers CS, you'll need to move your data to Accounting CS.

Follow these steps to migrate from Workpapers CS to Accounting CS.

You can use these steps to move from Accounting CS to Workpapers CS too. Swap the application names in the instructions.

Make sure both Workpapers CS and Accounting CS are on the same, latest version.

Back up your Workpapers CS data.

Make note of the SQL instance name Workpapers CS uses.

Uninstall Workpapers CS and its shared files:

On your computer, select Start
, then Programs and Features
.

Select Workpapers CS
, then Uninstall
.

Do the same for Workpapers CS Shared Files.

If you can't find Shared Files, uninstall it from the server.

Repeat this on all computers with Workpapers CS.

Install Accounting CS:

In Step 2, select Use an existing instance
and choose the SQL instance you noted earlier.

If you create a new SQL instance, restore your backup from step 2.

Go to Help
then About
and download the latest licenses.

Check your staff setup and security groups.

Turn on services for your clients in Setup
then Clients
.
