Error: Font OCR-A BT does not support style Regular
Scenario
You may get the following error message when:
- You're previewing or printing a payroll form.
- TheEdit Payroll Tax Formsscreen is blank.
Error message
System.ArgumentException: Font 'OCR-A BT' does not support style 'Regular'
Cause
The necessary font file used is missing or outdated. Many payroll tax forms require the use of the OCR-A BT font on forms generated by the application.
Solution
- Go to your computer's Control Panel then selectFonts.
- Find and delete any fonts that begin with CSI, such as:
- CSI Forms Normal
- CSI Forms New Normal
- CSI MICR E13B Normal
- CSI MICR E13B V2 Regular
- CSI OCRA BT Regular
- CSI OCRB Regular
If there are no CSI fonts listed, go to next step. - Delete the following fonts:
- OCR-A BT Regular
- OCR-B Normal
note- You may have all or only some of the preceding OCR fonts.
- Deleting other fonts that begin with OCR but aren't in the preceding list can cause printing problems in other installed applications.
- You can't delete fonts by going toC:\Windows\Fonts. You'll get a message that the file is in use or open by another program.
- Deleting fonts makes them unavailable for other programs. Only delete the fonts you're sure you aren't using.
- Restart your computer.
- Run the Accounting CS desktop setup.
Internal use only
If these instructions don't resolve the issue, have the person check another machine for the missing fonts. Fonts can be copied from 1 machine to another.
- Open Windows Explorer.
- Go toC:\Windows\Fonts.
- Copy the font files you want from theFontsfolder to a network drive.
- On the 2nd computer, drag the font files to theFontsfolder and Windows will automatically install them.
If there isn't a 2nd computer with the missing fonts, copy the fonts from your machine and send them to the user. Change your email "From" to

Send only the missing fonts used by Thomson Reuters. Most fonts are copyrighted and shouldn't be sent from system to system without regard to that copyright. Most fonts end up on a system when new software is installed or when a special font is purchased then installed, so you'll need to check the documentation that came with the software or font and make sure you can transfer the font freely from 1 system to another.
