Errors: Invalid file location

Scenario

You may get the following error messages when creating or transmitting a file.
Error message
Unable to create file due to the following error(s): The selected drive does not exist. You must select a valid file location.
Error message
Unable to transmit file due to the following error(s): The selected drive does not exist. You must select a valid file location.
Error message
Unable to transmit file due to the following error(s): You do not have permission in the specified path.
Error message
The file storage location ‘xxxxx’ does not exist. No files can be created.
Error message
The specified EFTPS file storage location does not exist.
Error message
Could not find a part of the path.
Error message
The network path was not found.

Cause

The data path is wrong or doesn't exist.

Solution

  1. Select
    Setup
    , then
    File locations
    .
  2. Go to the
    File Creation
     tab and update the data location.
note
  • If you're working in the Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS) environment, the locations specified in this tab are the default data locations displayed in the Copy Files window.
  • For Accounting CS Client Access, the application presets the file locations for Direct deposit/ACH, New hire reporting, and SSN verification.
